Today, I pause to honor the memory of a remarkable diplomat and a dear friend, H.E. Mr. Leif H. Larsen, the late Ambassador of Norway, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash in Gilgit on May 8, 2015.
Ambassador Larsen was more than a skilled diplomat — he was a kind soul, a bridge-builder, and a man of vision and humility. I was privileged to share meaningful conversations, moments of laughter, and a shared passion for peace and international cooperation with him.
His passing was a profound loss, not only for Norway and Pakistan but for all who had the honor to know him. His legacy lives on through the friendships he nurtured and the values he stood for.
May his soul rest in peace, and may we continue to be inspired by his life of service and humanity.
