CPNE condemns killing of Daily Intikhab reporter Latif Baloch

Karachi (PR) A renowned journalist from Awaran district, Latif Baloch, was shot dead by unknown persons in his house last night. The accused fled after the incident. Latif Baloch’s son was killed by unknown persons last month while several members of his family have been killed at intervals. He started his journalism career with the daily Intikhab and was appointed its bureau chief, but after taking up government service, he seemed less active in journalism. According to family sources, he had no personal enmity. Meanwhile, CPNE has strongly condemned the murder of renowned journalist Latif Baloch from Awaran and demanded that the killers be arrested and given the ultimate punishment. The statement said that the killing of journalists is continuing with frequency in the country and especially in Balochistan, which is unacceptable. Such heinous actions are an attempt to suppress journalism and freedom of expression. CPNE will continue its role for freedom of the press.
